Periodic boundary conditions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I'm solving a system of coupled differential equations on a linear mesh with periodic boundary conditions imposed to join the ends.

I am having two problems.

1. I want to define a random spatial distribution as initial condition.

2. I want to apply periodic boundary conditions.

But I am not able to match the two aims.

I try using the MATLAB rand() function to generate randomness, but I am unaware of how to couple this in a functional form with x to lead to a random distribution over the mesh points. After generation of the random distribution I need to ensure the end points match.

Could anyone help me. I am a beginner with COMSOL

Thanks for your help

Sincerely,
More
