how to rotate a cylinder with a angular velocity ω

Hi All,

I am trying to do a analysis for a cylinder (with radius R) rotating around center axis with a angular velocity ω .
But I have no idea how to set this work in Comsol, especially how to rotate a cylinder with a angular velocity ω.

Hi

what are you lokking after the centrifugal forces and load effects ?
If so then why not leave the object fixed and rotate a virtual frame by adding a boundary load, in the radial i.e.

R=sqrt((X-X0)^2+(Y-Y0)^2)

direction (assuming a Z axis of rotation at (X0,Y0), pls adapt) then the body load is simply F=(2*pi*rpm)^2*R*rho

assuming the rotation is known as rpm (rotation per minutes, BUT expressed in seconds ! to keep it SI) and rho is the density. Note the force is a body force "density" hence units N/m^3
