specifying a global constraint on an internal variable

is there a way to specify a constraint that the average of a stress component must be zero?

i do not believe you have them "pre-cooked", but it should be possible via a weak equations or an external ODE

Hi Ivar,

Thanks for your reply. I tried to apply a global weak constraint on the model by assigning a average operator on the domain and then specifying the average of the stress component to be zero. But it does not work.
