Step by Step Modeling of a Dipole Antenna

This is an introductory tutorial that shows how to model a dipole antenna using the COMSOL RF Module.

A dipole antenna is one of the simplest antenna structures, and many radiating structures can be modeled in similar ways to the methods shown here.

This example works through several variations of a dipole antenna structure, considering different excitation sources, symmetry planes, far field radiation pattern, antenna impedance, radiation resistance, domain truncation via scattering boundary conditions and perfectly matched layers. Other antenna models are also briefly introduced.
