There are some great Keynote presentations being given during the conference. Dawn Bernardi kicks it all off by presenting her work and Ford’s project for greener vehicles. She develops mathematical models that predict system behavior, and her presentation will be specific to lithium-ion batteries.

John Lovell from Schlumberger is also presenting some of his research. This is based around near-wellbore physics and how this is applied to hydrocarbon production. Rick Nopper has worked on many different projects at DuPont and will be sharing his experiences along with how computational science is applied at this company.

Darrell Pepper, from the University of Nevada, and Svante Littmarck, CEO of COMSOL, will both be talking about COMSOL Multiphysics’ progress. Darrell will be presenting results from some large scale simulations he has run on a cluster, while Svante will be giving a peak of the next version of COMSOL Multiphysics, Version 4.2a.

The new version will be available to be used in the minicourses, and I think these talks will only increase your desire try it out as soon as possible.
