Technical support engineer specializing in geometry and meshing

Would you like to apply your problem-solving skills to make someone's day? How about working in an environment where your interest in maths and physics is valued and put to use? Do you - like us - prefer your partial differential equations solved numerically in beautiful geometries, as opposed to analytically on unit disks? If so, this is for you.

Your Role

In COMSOL's Stockholm office, we develop the core functionality of our multiphysics product family, used worldwide in research and development. We also provide customers and other COMSOL offices with technical support on the use of our products for solving science and engineering problems.

Joining our technical support team, you will help customers and colleagues worldwide make the most out of their simulations. We are looking for somebody who will specialize in geometry and meshing, although given the multiphysics nature of our software, you will get to investigate and address inquiries covering a very wide range of topics.

  • Work in a tight team of highly qualified support engineers.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients, mostly in written form, but also over the phone, in web meetings, or in person.
  • Help with all the phases of a simulation - preparing a geometry, creating a mesh, setting up the physics, solving, and visualizing the results. Your focus will be on the first two parts, but in many cases you will also spend significant time and effort on the remaining process.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the software, by processing customer feedback as well as discussing your own improvement suggestions with colleagues in the development team.
  • Demonstrate our software at meetings with existing and prospective customers, and give workshops, courses, and webinars.
  • Gradually expand your knowledge, having plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

Your Profile

You are first and foremost passionate about finding and communicating solutions to challenging problems and questions. You are able to refocus on new tasks several times a day and always work with short deadlines. You are compassionate and imaginative enough to develop a feel for how to best help the customer, also when that means addressing questions that they haven't yet asked.

We are looking for a technical support engineer with the following background:

  • MSc or equivalent degree in engineering
  • Some prior experience with CAD tools and/or simulation software.
  • Professional experience is a plus.
  • Able to communicate with confidence in a client-facing environment, in written and spoken English. Swedish helps but is no requirement.

Working at COMSOL

You will quickly play a key role within the technical support team, and be in daily contact with sales, marketing, and development. As the company is growing continuously, we strive toward making you an expert in your field within a few years. Along the way, you will be supported by experienced colleagues in a collaborative working environment. In addition to an exciting career working with a sophisticated software product, we also offer a competitive salary, individual pension plans, sponsored gym membership and more. We respect your leisure time and need for a work-life balance. Our office is located in central Stockholm.
