In this lecture series, we will work through an introduction to the COMSOL Multiphysics® software suite for the modeling of Joule heating and thermal expansion. We will begin with a typical engineering problem statement and work through to getting a solution within the software. We will show how to use the software effectively and efficiently, and how to ensure confidence in the modeling results.
The series of 5 1-hour parts will start on Monday, August 24, at 11 a.m. EDT and run through Friday, August 28, at the same time every day.

Walter Frei has been with COMSOL since 2008. He received his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working on the optimization of photonic crystal microcavity lasers.
