define the attribute of material

i am a noviciate of comsol, i want to define the variable refractivity of material to simulate the reflentance with the wave optics. the refractivity was defined by interpolation function, but it meet some problem when you compute the results. the problem is that the variable of refractivity is undefined,and can not compute. who knows how to solve this problem? please help me, thanks a lot.
