Phantom solution for a transient thermo-mechanical elasto-plastic analysis?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Up until yesterday, I have been attempting to create a transient thermo-mechanical (coupled multiphysics) elasto-plastic models using COMSOL 3.5a, with little success - primarily due to the inability of the solver to simultaneously solve for primary variables displacement and temperature, even for a very small model. But, when I ask the solver to only solve for "T" but output displacement, strain, and temperature, it produces stress fields but NOT displacement or strain fields in addition to the temperature fields, the latter being expected while the stress fields not. I believe the stress fields to be reasonable, so I have no way of discerning what is artifact and what is the true solution, or why COMSOL is doing this. Any thoughts?
