Surface plot of velocity in Comsol for a 2D flow case

If I want to plot surface velocity profile in Comsol such that we have a plane on horizontal surface and variation of velocity is shown in vertical direction as if it appears to be a truncation, how to do that? I am attaching a similar figure of what I need to draw. If anyone has any idea regarding this, kindly help. Thanks.!

Hello Aashna,

The following steps will do what you want, if I understand your intentions correctly. First, Create a dataset of the Cut Plane type at the desired location, then create a 2D Plot Group, add a Surface plot in that Plot Group, and add a Height Expression subnode to that Surface plot. See attached screenshot and mph file.

Best,

Jeff
