Platform: Windows Se réfère à: LiveLink™ for Solid Edge® Versions: Toutes les versions

Problem Description

When I try to synchronize the geometry between COMSOL and Solid Edge, the error message

Failed to connect to Solid Edge. Please make sure Solid Edge is running.

is displayed, and the COMSOL Multiphysics tab in Solid Edge is not available.

Solution

If you have licensed LiveLink for Solid Edge, the installer creates an add-in to Solid Edge called the LiveLink for COMSOL. This add-in should appear in the Add-In Manager dialog box that is accessible in the Solid Edge user interface if you click the Application Button, then select Add-Ins from the menu.

The connection between COMSOL and Solid Edge will fail if the add-in cannot be loaded by Solid Edge. This can happen if, for example, the COMSOL installation is moved to a different location. In the case of such a failure, you can reinstall LiveLink for Solid Edge, or repair the installation as described in knowledgebase 1221.

Manual Repair

Follow the steps below to register the add-in manually and enable the connection.

  1. Close Solid Edge if it is running on your computer.
  2. Click the Start menu symbol in the lower-left corner of your Windows desktop.
  3. Enter cmd in the Start Search field.
  4. cmd.exe appears in the list of programs. Right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  5. In the command window that appears enter the following (the complete command must be entered on one line):

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe "C:\Program Files\COMSOL\COMSOLXX\Multiphysics\ext\LiveLink\SolidEdge\cslivelinkse.dll" /codebase

In the above C:\Program Files\COMSOL\COMSOLXX is the local path to the COMSOL installation. Use the version number corresponding to your installation, for example C:\Program Files\COMSOL\COMSOL62 for COMSOL Multiphysics 6.2.

Open Solid Edge and check that the add-in LiveLink for COMSOL appears and is loaded in the Add-In Manager dialog box.
