Modeling Biochemical Sensors and Testing Devices with COMSOL® — On Demand

Biochemical sensors and testing devices are characterized by their bioreceptor and transducer mechanisms. Bioreceptors can be based on enzymes, antibodies, aptamers, and whole-cell receptors. Transducers can be based on electrochemical, optical, electronic, thermal, gravimetric, and acoustical methods. Modeling and simulation is key to understanding and designing these devices.
COMSOL Multiphysics® is widely used in the biomedical industry for modeling the processes that occur within bioreceptors and transducers incorporated in biosensors and testing devices. The software's multiphysics capabilities enable the simulation of chemical reactions, diffusion and advection, fluid flow, electric and magnetic fields, thermoelectrics, bioelectrochemistry, piezoelectricity, fluid–structure interaction, optics, acoustics, and more.
During this webinar, we will discuss how to model biosensors and testing devices, including glucose sensors and rapid test devices, in COMSOL Multiphysics®.
