Hi

material data is often changing, with new discoveries, measurements and publications, etc.

Personally I do never change the COMSOL material library data, but I add any new/corrected entry into my personal data library, that I keep from version to version. And at each new version I cross check with the new material data library to remove tfrom mine tose that have been updated/corrected.

Now pls do not forget to mail to "support" (and perhaps here too) about any error found and provide them with references to new material data you believe needs correction/updates, otherwise us others out here might still use oldish data and get wrong results ;)

I.e. you need bulk sintered alpha Silicon Carbid data for large high tech structures, such as optics and optomechanics, to update the material library, then try here:
www.boostec.com/SiCTypicalCharacteristics.pdf

I have notice too that in the optical domain, there is quite a lot of material data missing i.e. for thin film analysis.

I beleive that such data can only come through a common efforts, from all users

Have a nice day
Ivar
