How to define a function related to coordinate values in COMSOL

I am using COMSOL v3.5a now, and a matlab function is defined as follow:
f(uX,uY,uZ,x,y,z)
where uX,uY and uZ are independent variables, x,y,z are the coordinates.
1) It's hard to calculated the derivative of f() with respect to the coordinate. Do you know how can matlab directly read the coordinate values of integration points without setting (x,y,z) as function auguments?
2) In comsol, there is a function d(f,x) to calculate derivatives. Is that reliable?
Thanks
Dan
