Question about the radiation in participating medium's boundary condition

Hello everyone,

I have a problem about the boundary of Radiation in Participating Media. There are two different boundaries you can set the intensity. One is the incident intensity, another is the semitransparent surface. The equation of the semitransparent surface is (rpm.epsilon_radd_bandrpm.Ibextrpm.fep+rpm.rho_radd_bandrpm.qrout_band/pi+rpm.tau_radu_bandrpm.qr_in_ext_band/pi+rpm.tau_s_radu_bandrpm.Iextbandsubst12). If I set the materials of the surface ( rpm.epsilonradd_band、rpm.rho_radd_band、rpm.tau_radu_band ) equal to zero and set the" rpm.tau_s_radu_band" to 1. Then the equation would be eliminated to rpm.Iextbandsubst12. If the intensity of the boundary is the same, then incident intensity boundary would be the same as semitransparent surface. However the result is different. Can someone tell me the reason for it?

Every help would be appreciated
