How to set continuous boundary conditions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello, I am a beginner of COMSOL. I would like to ask when modeling an infinitely large space, only a limited space (such as a cube) is selected for simulation. Then how to set continuous boundary conditions at the boundary of the cube? And the physical parameter inside the cube equals the physical parameter outside the cube. Thanks in adavance.

This is a non-trivial question, but fortunately you are not the first person to worry about it. Note that calling it a "continuous" boundary condition is not quite the right terminology here. I encourage you to start your reading within the Comsol Help System, under the Topic: "Infinite Elements, Perfectly Matched Layers, and Absorbing Layers" and "Simulation of Infinite Domains" See (updated link): https://doc.comsol.com/5.6/doc/com.comsol.help.comsol/comsol_ref_definitions.17.107.html
