How to incorporate a user defined force (e.g., the van der Waals force) in COMSOL Multiphysics which is dependent on structural deformation?

Hi,

I have successfully carried out analysis on electrostatically actuated cantilever using COMSOL Multiphysics 5.4 as Structural Mechanics> ElectromagneticsStructureInteraction> Electromechanics> Electromechanics and by following instructions provided on following link:

https://www.comsol.com/model/electrostatically-actuated-cantilever-444

Now I want to incorporate the van der Waals force (which is dependant on structural deformation) in this simulation. With my current understanding, the additional user-defined van der Waals force needs to be added using COMSOL functions.

The specialty of the van der Waals force is that it varies with the electrode's deformation. It is inversely proportional to the cube of the distance between two electrodes:

[ForcevdW ~ 1/(initial separation between electrodes - electrode displacement)^3]

I sincerely request you to kindly guide me in this regard. Thank you.

Regards,

Kedar
