Keynote: Sustain On-Demand Product Innovation and Process Development in an Operation-Oriented Environment

In this keynote talk from the COMSOL Conference 2024 Florence, Marco Mastrovito covers how the COMSOL Multiphysics^® software can be used for innovation and to solve customer problems.

Mastrovito begins the talk by introducing IMI CCI, its relevant sectors, and Growth Hub, the company’s global program for finding successful products that meet the requirements of a rapidly changing world. He then explains the ambitions and challenges faced by IMI CCI's R&D department. In particular, he highlights how they overcame working with limited resources. Mastrovito then discusses the development of the innovative EroSolve Metamorphic Trim (MMT), which remedies common frustrations with other trim designs. He also highlights using COMSOL Multiphysics^® to optimize this design. In the final segment of the talk, Mastrovito examines how IMI CCI used simulation to develop a turbine bypass and minimized the required computational expense for this project.
