Parameter Estimation of a Polymer Membrane Fuel Cell Model

This tutorial demonstrates how to use stationary polarization data to perform parameter estimation of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) model.

The model, defining a 5-layer membrane electrode assembly (MEA) is two-dimensional and includes electronic and ionic charge balances, Butler–Volmer kinetics, as well as gas diffusive and convective transport in the oxygen/air gas diffusion layer and electrode (catalytic layer).

Two sets of polarization data, for either a humidified oxygen or air mixture, are used for estimation of four model parameters.
