June 12, 2025 Burlington, Massachusetts 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Back to Events Calendar

Join us at our USA headquarters in Burlington, MA for a coffee and conversation on how multiphysics simulation is driving innovation across various industries. During this event you will get to meet COMSOL engineers, learn more about the COMSOL software, and hear how fellow engineers are using COMSOL to speed up and get the most out of their modeling work. Register today!

Part I: 9:30am - 11:00am EDT

Welcome and Coffee Reception

Meet and greet engineers driving innovation across industry, academia, and government, followed by a brief overview of the event and speaker, COMSOL's Senior Vice President of Product Management, Bjorn Sjodin.

COMSOL Usage in Industry

Engineers from vast industries utilize COMSOL for an extensive range of applications. COMSOL Multiphysics® enables high-fidelity modeling and simulation of a variety of physical couplings that provide the full picture for engineers analyzing performance and efficiency. This session will overview and highlight recent public examples of collaboration.

Intro to COMSOL Multiphysics

We’ll overview the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and its three components: the Model Builder, Application Builder, and Model Manager. The COMSOL Product Suite contains add-on modules that provide specialized functionality for low and high frequency electromagnetics, structural mechanics, acoustics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and chemical engineering. All modules connect seamlessly with COMSOL Multiphysics® for a modeling workflow that remains the same regardless of what you are modeling.

Digital Twin & Surrogate Modeling

Simulation-data-driven surrogate models in COMSOL Multiphysics® significantly increase computational speed while maintaining the same accuracy within their applicable data ranges as high-fidelity multiphysics models, making them useful for efficiently approximating simulation results. Surrogate models also allow simulation apps to be integrated into digital twins, expanding their real-world applications.

Part II: 11:00am - 12:00pm EDT

Modeling Demonstration

Then, we'll explore unlimited multiphysics in COMSOL with a modeling demonstration of a thermal actuator. By investigating the effects of tightly coupled electrical, thermal, fluid, and structural phenomena, multiphysics analyses provide a sophisticated platform for innovating design.

COMSOL Server™ and Compiler™

With the COMSOL Server™, you can deploy your simulation apps to anyone you want, including coworkers within your organization and customers. With the COMSOL Compiler™, you can convert applications you build in COMSOL Multiphysics® into standalone applications with the click of a button. The compiled applications can be run without a COMSOL Multiphysics® or COMSOL Server™ license, which gives you full control over your simulations, letting you distribute them at your own discretion.

Q&A

We'll conclude with an open Q&A session, where we welcome your questions, insights, and feedback on COMSOL. Whether you are curious about specific features, have technical inquiries, or want to discuss how the platform can support your unique challenges, this is your chance to interact with the COMSOL team directly.
