How to simulate Mechanical modes with specified symmetries?

Hi, All,

For a long beam, if the ends of the beam are fixed. We can get a lot of modes with different symmetris. How can we simulate only with some specified symmetris?

For example: the beam with length x=10um, thickness z=0.25um, width y=0.25um. Centered at the origin. both end are fixed. How can we simulate the modes with x-even symmetry: u(x)=u(-x), v....? Can we make it only by set symmetries in some internal boundaries? or by using some coupling variables? or ...

It is solved. Before I am using the hole structure with internal boundaries as symmetry planes. However, this can generate more modes than expected. The solution is simply using only the small part with external boundaries as symmetry panes.
