Phase of solution wrt incident wave in rf simulation

Hi,

I have a simple but confusing problem regarding the phase of the solution.

The problem is quite simple:
Calculate a propagating wave in free space (3D) for a certain distance D.
I'd like to know the phase of the wave a certain positions.

The analytical solution is obvious:
(i) At the incident plane the phase is zero. (Set incident wave to be plane wave and real like (1,0,0))

(ii) If the incident wave phase is zero, after a certain distance D the phase is D/lambda.


The solution I obtain is ok except for the fact that the solution for electric field amplitude is always plotted to be maximum at the center of the calculation box. (Solution of angle(phase) =0)

However, it would be more useful if I can fix the incident wave phase to be zero (excluding any reflected wave).

The goal is to calculate the phase of the transmission and reflection waves with respect to the incident surface.

If anybody has experience in this kind of problem, it will be very helpful. Thanks!
