How to model azimuthally periodic 3D condition?

Found something interesting (www.comsol.com/conference2011/usa/abstract/id/11323/zehnpfennig_abstract.pdf)

Does anyone know how to model a 3D wave equation problem with azimuthally periodic condition in COMSOL? Besides writing PDE/Weak Form of the whole problem from bottom?

I think there are a lot of eigenvalue problems(one of which is the famous whispering gallery mode)that has some azimuthally periodic condition in spherical/cylindrical coordinates. I don't konw if there is some built-up model for that sort of problems.

THX!
