FSI Moving A Solid Through Fluid

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey all,

I'm attempting to move a particle (small sphere) through a cylinder of fluid. I'm using a time dependent study with FSI physics. The simulation happily runs with no motion conditions imposed on the model. However, when I specify a body load on the particle to get it to move the simulation does not converge. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if there is something else I need to specify. I read a publication on how someone used the Matlab Livelink to move a particle like this, but I was hoping for a way to do this using just COMSOL. I'm new to the Fluid Structure Interaction physics so I'd appreciate if anyone had some guidance and would be kind enough to alleviate my ignorance. Thanks!

Best regards,

Josh
