Strain definition in structural mechanics module

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,
I've looked the equation settings of a typical Stress-Strain problem with the structural mechanics module, and I've been looking for the definition of the strain used by Comsol.
It looks like it is the engineering strain, given that the strain is the gradient of the displacement vector (maybe it's called the normal strain).
There are a great number of publications using the Hencky (or true) strain definition. As anyone ever experienced that kind of strain ?
Thanks
