Breaking force

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey,

As I'm fairly new to COMSOL, I thought I'd come onto here to ask for some advice

I want to create a simple simulation, where I have a thin circular disk, constrained not to move at the edges, with a spherical probe in the centre applying force downwards. I want to be able to plot the force applied verses the stress in the material to ultimately determine the breaking point ( am I right in thinking this is the point where the solution no longer converges?)

Right now I have a model of the material and the tip, and can apply a downward displacement and measure the induced stresses from that, but I have no idea on how to get the program to work out the associated forces.

All advice will be greatly appreciated
