                                                    Hi Carl,
To compute an entire study, press F8. To compute a selected study step, press F7. Currently there is no shortcut key for canceling a solution process, but we will look into that for a future version. For now, you can use the Cancel button in the lower-right corner of the COMSOL Desktop or any of the Stop buttons in the Progress window.
Best regards,
Magnus

                                                    Hi Carl, Magnus,
it should be added that by using the 'cancel' button you typically loose the so far calculated solution, e.g. in a time dependent study. Using the 'stop' buttons preserves the solution.
In an application there is no option to 'stop' the solution in a controlled way, you always loose the complete solution by cancelling.
@Magnus: is anything in view to allow a controlled stop in applications?
Cheers
Edgar

                                                    Hi Magnus, Edgar,
thanks so much for your help! Once a solution is stopped (a) and continued (b), probe plots during (a) disappear. Is there a solution to this?
