Unable to read or write out-of-core file

I have received the error:
" - Feature: Eigenvalue Solver 1 (sol1/e1) Unable to read or write out-of-core file."

Any idea what this means? I have TBs of disk space so I don't think that should be a problem.

If you haven't already, go to menu items File > Preferences > Files and check your settings there.

The file preferences are standard. Nothing amiss that I can see.

Another quick test that you might want to try would be to create a computationally smaller model and see if it does the same thing. Have you ever created any similar models for which you succeeded in using an out-of-core file? Note that most of the time, out-of-core usage (when successful) leads to much slower execution than fully in-RAM calculations. Also, how much RAM do you have? How much is being used? Are you working on a stand-alone or networked computer? Are you able to estimate how many bytes it is attempting to save/swap to/from out-of-core storage? If you are using a Windows-based computer, take a look at the memory usage(s) during execution using the Task Manager. And what does the Comsol log say is the Degrees of Freedom for this model? It also may be helpful to anyone thinking about this if you can post your .mph file to the forum.
