3D/2D Hydrodynamic force calculation

I need to calculate the 3D/2D hydrodynamic force on a moving sphere in pressure driuven flow in a rectangular or parallel plate microchannel. I need to take into account of the boundary effect of the particle on the fluid flow.

I understand people use BEM/BIM or LBM to solve such problems.

Is it possible to solve the above problem using COMSOL using ALE Moving Mesh/Level Set method?

Thanks Danial. I believe this should work. It would be nice to see the model on COMSOL User Interafce.

It is possible, but very inconvenient. You have to do remeshing by hand each time you have inverted mesh (a problem that happens when there is large movement of ALE mesh). So, it is much easier to let matlab code take care of it.

Thanks.

I just tried to run the code in COMSOL script. However, I am getting the message,

" Failed to find consistent initial values - last time step has not converged"
