Near-fields in Arrays of Triangular Particles: Coupling Effects and Field Enhancements
Publié en 2011
Surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) investigations of silver and gold triangular nanoparticles reveal strong field enhancements at the corners of the particles. Though the measurements were done at wavelengths far from the surface-plasmon resonance of the particles, large field enhancements can be generated by near-field coupling between the triangular particles and smaller metal clusters.
COMSOL Multiphysics was applied to study these coupling effects in various geometrical configurations. For small gaps, Raman enhancements of the order of 10^8 can be achieved. Moreover, we studied the surface-plasmon resonance shift on coupled rods and a Fano-like resonance in a trimmer of silver nanospheres.
