Truck Mounted Crane Analyzer
Application ID: 22291
Many trucks are equipped with cranes for handling loads. These cranes use hydraulic cylinders to control the motion of the crane, and the cylinders and other components are subjected to large forces when handling heavy loads. To determine the load-carrying capacity of the crane, these forces must be computed.
This app performs a rigid body analysis of a truck-mounted crane to determine the payload capacity for a specified crane orientation and extension. Inputs include the angle between the booms, the total extension length, and the capacities of the inner boom, outer boom, and extension cylinders. The results include the payload capacity and hydraulic cylinder usage.

however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products.
