Analyzing resonances is essential when designing loudspeakers. Resonances can originate from various components, with the diaphragm being a significant source. Traditional approaches to controlling diaphragm resonances have different benefits and drawbacks. A more advanced approach is to use innovative materials, such as composites.
This example consists of two parts. The first part demonstrates how to extract homogenized material properties for composite materials with different microstructures. The second part performs an eigenfrequency analysis of a diaphragm and compares conventional materials, such as titanium, with composites characterized using the homogenized properties obtained in the first part.
